Puppies
To help ease puppies into the grooming experience, we typically introduce them to something simple like a bath or mini groom package. This initial introduction allows them to acclimate to the salon environment, familiarizing themselves with the sights, sounds, and sensations, without the need to undergo a full grooming session. During their first visit, we kindly request that our clients allow us to assess each puppy to determine their comfort level for a complete grooming service.
Our pricing structure for puppies is size-based, meaning that a 4-month-old Labrador, for instance, may initially fall under the small category. However, as they grow in size, their pricing will be adjusted accordingly.
Underlying conditions
We have the pleasure of caring for your pets regularly throughout the year, sometimes even weekly! Rest assured that we take note of any abnormalities we may detect during our sessions. It is important to note that we may take pictures and videos to document these findings for both our pet parents and their veterinarians. Through our thorough nose-to-toes evaluation, there is little we miss! (Example: ear infections, subaceous cysts, tartar build up, or areas of pain)
Matted pets
Dogs with matted coats need extra attention during their grooming session. Mats left in a dog's coat will only grow tighter and can strangle the dog's skin or eventually tear it open. We do not wish to cause serious or undue stress to your dog, and will not continually de-mat your dog. We believe in comfort over vanity. Mats can be very difficult and uncomfortable to remove and may require the dog to be shaved. When necessary, removing a heavily matted coat includes risks of nicks, cuts or abrasions due to warts, moles or skin folds trapped in the mats. Heavy matting can also trap moisture and urine near the dog's skin allowing mold, fungus or bacteria to grow, causing skin irritations that existed prior to the grooming process. Torn skin from mats can also harbor maggots. After-effects of mat removal procedures can include itchiness, skin redness, self-inflicted irritations or abrasions, bruising, hematomas and failure of the hair to regrow. Shaved dogs are also prone to sunburn and should either have sunscreen applied daily or should be kept out of the sun until their hair grow sufficiently to protect the skin. In some cases, dogs can also exhibit brief behavioral changes. There is an extra charge for dematting. Prevention is the best defense against matting; therefore, be sure to schedule regular grooming appointments. We will do our best to remove mats but not at the expense of your dog experiencing pain or discomfort. Therefore a severely matted dog may not have a grooming outcome you would expect.
What is your no show policy?
We kindly request a 24-hour notice for cancellations to avoid any fees. No-shows and last-minute cancellations may incur a fee of 50% of the projected service cost, which will be added to your next appointment. Following the first warning, prepayment may be necessary for all future appointments. While we empathize with emergency situations, continued flexibility cannot be guaranteed. Please respect our time as we operate on an appointment-only basis. Clients who arrive late risk forfeiting their appointment. Thank you for your understanding.
Service refusal
In rare instances where we determine that it may not be in the best interest of your pet to receive grooming services, we reserve the right to decline servicing that animal. Conditions such as active infections, open sores, and flea infestations are examples of situations where we may recommend seeking grooming clearance from your veterinarian before proceeding with our services. Your pet's well-being is our top priority, and we will always act in their best interest.
Aggressive dogs
Owners must inform us if their dog(s) bites, has bitten, or is aggressive to people, other dogs or specific grooming procedures. Muzzles may be used if necessary. Muzzling will not harm your dog and protects both the dog and the groomer. Keeping our groomers and your pet safe are our number one priority.
We reserve the right to refuse/stop service for such dogs at any time before or during the grooming process, and charge a special handling fee, in addition to the regular grooming charge regardless of if the groom is completed or not
Injury from a dog bite MUST be reported to animal control services.
Senior dogs
Grooming procedures can be stressful, particularly for senior dogs or those with health issues, as they can reveal hidden or exacerbate existing medical conditions.
For senior dogs, our grooming approach focuses on cleanliness and comfort, prioritizing humanity over vanity.
Fleas/Ticks
All pets are required to be on up-to-date flea and tick preventatives when visiting our salon. In the event that a pet is discovered to have fleas, they will undergo a flea bath as a precautionary measure, and an additional charge of $50 will be applied for the extra cleaning procedures. It is important to note that parasites pose health risks to both pets and humans, underscoring the necessity of preventive measures and prompt treatment.
Pick up policy
We are not a daycare facility and have limited kennel space available. To maintain a calm environment for all pets under our care, we kindly request that you pick up your pet within 30 minutes of the completion of their grooming service. If you anticipate needing more time, please inform us during drop-off. Late pickups after closing hours will incur a charge of $1 per minute. Your understanding and cooperation are appreciated as we have our own pets to attend to after business hours. Thank you for respecting our time.
